ABOUT RICHARD ROBLES
I was born Richard Dennis Robles in California, the son of an artist and gallery owner. I was raised in the San Francisco Bay area where I spent my first thirty years. I went on to live in Maine and Ohio, where I raised my three wonderful kids. I also lived in Hawaii and New Mexico. I've always pursued painting and photography, but throughout the years I've also had more types of jobs than I can count. But I mainly worked in Motion Pictures, Theater, Rock and Roll, and Special Events. In Ohio, I also worked in Film and Commercials and taught stage-craft for a few years at Antioch University.
Since 2019, I have been living in the beautiful state of Washington with my wife and two cats. My life is very good. I started to ride the bus here, which is free in my town. That has led me to photograph the people I meet on the bus and at bus stops who have generously shared their stories and their faces with me. I recently entered some of their black-and-white photos at our local fair and received an honorable mention, and that has encouraged me to pursue this subject matter in the future at our state fair and other larger venues, and possibly local galleries.
