Detecting Forgery in Handwritten Signatures

ISBN: 978-1-940388-36-6

Detecting forgery in handwritten signatures is a specialty among handwriting and forgery experts. It's a necessary one, because people sign their names more often than anything else they write, even in the digital age. They sign deeds, Wills, trusts, loan agreements, employment applications, bank checks, various contracts and, if they are celebrities, they sign books, baseballs, art, and photographs. Sign Here! explains the ins and outs of detecting forgery in handwritten signatures, and includes examples of forgery analyses and a variety of signatures. It also provides information for those who want to become expert witnesses, the laws governing the admission of handwriting and handwriting analysts as experts, and how to prepare exhibits and calculate the probability of a forgery. Glossary, bibliography, index. 140 pgs, 5.5" x 8.5", 250+ illustrations.

REVIEWS

Great little book. Well-written and easy to understand. Lots of illustrations. - W. Hutchinson, Alexandria, West Virginia

This is the first book I've seen so far on the subject of handwritten forgery that has so many images that show how the comparisons are done. I've read some of this author's other books on face and ear comparisons, and they were equally well-illustrated. Her books are also written for anyone to read, not just experts with PhDs. - Richard Waltham, Vero Beach, Florida

I have read lots of books, old and new, about handwriting analysis. The ones about forgery were not helpful at all. But this book is loaded with highly usable information and now I feel encouraged to pursue my desire to master this art. - D. Wiest, Pueblo, Colorado

I'm interested in a lot of different things, and I read a first draft of this book right before it went to the printer. I enjoyed it very much because the author was so thorough in her explanations of how everything is done, and she had lots of pictures to back up what she talked about. I don't plan to become a handwriting expert, but if I did, this would be the book I would use to learn how to do it. - Andrea Viktorson, Everett, Washington
